Delicious baked Vanilla Lemon donuts
Easy-peasy baked vanilla-lemon donuts. 🍩
A perfect recipe for the weekend are these fluffy and delicious lemon donuts, which have a wonderful texture due to the buttermilk. My family loves these and these are super quick to whip up and just need nine minutes in the oven. So this is a quick treat, which you can prepare easy-peasy in a little bit of time.
Recipe for 24 baked vanilla lemon donuts 🍩
So here is what you need:
- 130 g of melted butter (this needs to cool down a little bit after melting). This gives you time to get all the other ingredients ready.😉
- 250 ml of buttermilk
- two eggs
- 2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of lemon zest- according to your taste-I prefer a strong lemon flavor
- 115 g of brown sugar
- 30g of regular sugar
- 350 g of flour
- 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/4 tsp of baking soda and a pinch of salt
Mix the wet ingredients together with the sugar for 2 minutes, until it becomes a smooth batter. Then add flour and baking soda/ baking powder and salt.
Grease a donut pan and preheat your oven to 215 degree. Scoop or pipe the batter into the pan. Only fill the pan up to 2/3 so the dough can still rise in the oven.

Bake for 8-10 minutes. Check with a toothpick if the donuts are done- after the baking time. The toothpick should come out clean. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then get the donuts out & transfer to a cooling rack. Decorate with icing or chocolate.
Enjoy!!
Love and Happiness,
Sue
