Quark balls out of the air fryer in under 30 minutes. Simple air fryer recipe.

Recipe for simple quark balls from the air fryer. These quark balls are perfect when you need to make a quick snack and have a spontaneous visitor coming over. These are also perfect for birthday party or for a celebration of German ‘Karneval’.

The quark balls are prepared very quickly in the air fryer and without any hot oil! So easyand so delicious. These are like a german variation of doughnut holes.

Quarkbällchen

Recipe

  • 275 grams of wheat flour
  • 25 grams vanilla custard powder or starch
  • 30 grams of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 grams quark (20%) – but you can also use low-fat quark
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest and juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Mix everything into a smooth batter. You can do this very well with a mixer or food processor.
  2. Line the hot-air fryer with baking paper.
  3. Use an ice cream scoop to portion out the batter. Shape the dough into round balls with moistened hands.
  4. Bake the quark balls for 10 minutes at 175 degrees Celsius.
  5. Turn them over once and bake for another 3 minutes at 175 degrees Celsius.

Topping

  • 30 grams melted butter
  • 30 grams of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

6. Dip the warm quark balls in the butter and then in the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
