The best brioche burger buns
These burger buns are easy to prepare and incredibly tasty. Make your own brioche burger buns with this fool-proof recipe.
Recipe for 8 Brioche Burger Buns
- 20 grams of fresh yeast or 7 grams of dried yeast
- 525 grams flour
- 2 eggs
- 75 grams melted butter
- 250 ml milk
- 9 -10 grams salt
- 7 grams of sugar
- Egg spread: 1 egg yolk & 2 tablespoons of milk
- Mix the milk with the melted butter.
- Now add the sugar and yeast.
- Dissolve the yeast completely.
- Add the eggs and mix everything into a smooth dough.
- Now add the flour and salt. Mix everything well until you have a homogeneous dough. Work the dough for up to 8 minutes by hand, using a mixer or a kneading machine, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and leave it to rest at room temperature for an hour (or until it has doubled in size). This depends very much on the room temperature.
- Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Shape the dough pieces into round buns. Leave to rise again at room temperature for 30-60 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Fill a heatproof bowl with water and place in the oven.
- Mix one egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of milk.
- Brush the buns with the mixture and sprinkle with some sesame seeds.
- Bake the buns at 180 degrees for 18-25 minutes until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
